Hemp is one of my favorite vegetarian sources of protein and heart healthy essential fats, weather your looking to add a quick and easy protein to your salads, fruit bowls and shakes this is a must have. Remember you don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy this wonderful “Super Food”.
Hemp Seed, it has a lot of Bang for it’s Buck
Hemp’s nutritional profile shows it to be a good source of protein, fiber, and several unsaturated fatty acids. Three tablespoons of hemp seeds pack 11 grams of excellent vegetarian protein. It is delicious in salads, shakes, oatmeal, or with yogurt and fruit. There is no harm in consuming hemp; it is just one of many options for edible-source unsaturated fats. Other options include nuts (walnuts, pistachios, and almonds), olive oil, avocado, and fatty fish like salmon or sablefish. It is good to rotate the source of unsaturated fats in your diet to get the full benefits of a diverse range of foods.
