Why Is Taking Control of Your Life a Matter of Survival?
Every year in the United States, around 2 million people die, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). On average, 600,000 of these deaths result from heart disease. Close behind, at 500,000 are malignant cancers, particularly lung cancers.
The WHO World Cancer Report determined that global cancer cases will rise from an estimated 14 million this year to 22 million annually within the next 20 years. The annual cancer deaths are also expected to increase from 8.2 million to 13 million a year. This really is a “human disaster:”
This is happening despite spending millions of dollars in the “war on cancer” that was launched in December 1971 by President Richard Nixon.
When our basic needs such as water, food, and air are contaminated, it is not hard to see why we are facing a cancer crisis. Each year we are exposed to a staggering number of unseen environmental toxins, not to mention over 84,000 chemicals that are put into American food and products each year essentially without safety testing.
It’s Time to Take Action:
Many food labels lie and much of the food that we actually think is safe still contains traces of dangerous chemicals that, over time, can cause disruptions to our health. There will always be things that are out of our control but fortunately there are many lifestyle choices we can make to stay healthy that are fully within our control. For example we can control what we eat, how we cook it and how we store it. We can control what we use for cleaning and personal care products. We can control how much exercise and sunshine we get daily. We can control how we respond to the daily stress in our lives and maintain an optimistic positive outlook on life. All of these lifestyle choices are all things that influence our health and our state of well being.
How I Can Help You:
As a holistic health coach and nutritionist, I recognize that food is a major mechanism by which people are exposed to pollutants. Nutrition not only affects immunity but also affects the development of cancer and other diseases-either directly or indirectly via the immune system. Nutritional deficiencies decrease a person’s capacity to resist infection, and decrease the capability of the immune system. Poor nutrition adversely affects all components of the immune system.
The goal of sound nutrition counseling is to offer the body the necessary nutrients, antioxidants, and whole organic foods to rebuild, repair, and to eliminate the toxin overload. Each person is unique and will carefully be evaluated so I can design the best nutritional program that will offers a variety of delicious healing foods that will help you improve your state of health.
As part of treating the whole person I will introduce you to easy detoxification methods which may help take the burden off of the liver, kidneys, and digestive systems. I will also provide a specialty diet and suggest lifestyle modifications that will suit your particular needs and will allow you to recover more efficiently.
